IT First Aid Checklist

Below is a check list of things that can go wrong with your PC.
Use this as a guide when you email us.

1. What is your computer brand, model number and serial number
2. Are you running Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8 and have you obtained all the updates?
3. Have you installed any antispyware program and scanned for and removed any spyware, adware, etc. that it found?
4. Do you have protection from hackers (Like a software firewall such as Zone Alarm, and/or a hardware firewall such as a Netgear ProSafe Router/Firewall)?
5. What are you experiencing, what is happening on the screen, what were you doing just before the problem occurred, what can you do now with the computer (what works)?
